Anticipating the need to take Mary's parents to live with us, we moved to this larger town house at 1 Blairbeth Terrace, Burnside, Rutherglen. We had the first and second floors with a private entrance at the front of the terrace.

We moved from Carmunnock to Burnside shortly before Norman was due to leave Carmunnock Primar School and go to Secondary School in Cambuslang, so we took him to and from Carmunnock for the short time. He was instructed to walk to the edge of the village and stand under this tree and wait if we were a little late collecting him.
